Membership opens out a mellow and relaxed space for those who want to support A Peculiar Shade of Blue and dive a little deeper into this work, be it through personal interest or from the perspective of research.​

BECOMING A MEMBER

• Each membership requires approval prior to accepting payment.

• Once approved, you will become a site member. 

• You are free to head over to PLANS & PRICING to subscribe to a membership of your choice.​

 

ACROSS THE BOARD

All Memberships offer a free NEWSLETTER open to all subscribers regardless of their plan. 

 

FRIEND

FRIEND offers a light readership and is for you if you enjoy the ethos of this work and want to travel alongside. Elements combine:

• Newsletter.

• Iteration #2 - Fragments + Wonderings.

• Iteration #1 - Selected Original Posts.

• Priority booking for any public screening, event or release.

TRAVELLER

TRAVELLER provides an opportunity for those who have already experienced Iteration #1 in-person to revisit films online. TRAVELLER membership is supported by Rowan in-person and works as follows:

• A period of preparation (around 7 days) prior to viewing films.

• Access is granted over 14 days within a month long membership.

• A debrief and feedback period follow where Travellers can debrief in writing, in-person or both.  A one to one Zoom session with Rowan is included.

• TRAVELLER membership screens four times over a year.  Check the TRAVELLERS SCHEDULE 2025/6 for dates.

• If you have not seen A Peculiar Shade of Blue - Iteration #1 in-person or in an auditorium please visit BOOK A SCREENING or contact ROWAN to discuss.

PATRON

Is for those who are passionate about the project and want to support its development:

• Elements of FRIEND and TRAVELLER are included.

• Patrons are granted two sessions (two months) of the TRAVELLER element.

• PATRONS meet with Rowan four times over the year to discuss insight into the creative process and where Rowan will take any Q+A's.

• Winter Solstice traditionally marks the end of a creative cycle. Patrons are invited to an online preview of work in progress.

• Plus invitation to launches or screenings as and when they occur.

MEMBERSHIP & THE CREATIVE PROCESS

From past experience, membership and groups can get really busy, to a point where the demands of facilitation can divert away from my creative process as an artist. To manage expectations, it's important members understand while Iteration #2 is in action, I need to keep my snout in the mud and devote a high level of focus to a disciplined process for an extended period of time. This can make for uneven delivery of content as it is my priority to safeguard the integrity of that creative process first and foremost.

HOW DOES THIS TRANSLATE?

It's usual to see discounts, incentives, chats, discussion threads or interactive groups being offered as part of a membership package. This takes quite some time to facilitate, so here you will find none of that. I trust that members are here because they love the integrity of this work and want to support it.

 

FREQUENCY OF POSTS

• Newsletters arrive when there is news to share, usually around every 6-8 weeks.

• Selected posts for Iteration #1 and #2 refresh once a month.

• As there is a significant amount of writing from Iteration #1,  Original Posts will work in tandem to support and inform the release of GICLÉE PRINTS which will be focused on one stanza at a time.

• There may be periods of quiet. Posts vary in length.

• Periods of outward quiet usually mean there is a lot happening behind the scenes. I tend to wait for windows when the rhythm of the artistic process hits a natural pause where I can focus on a flurry of delivery for members.

 

THE VIRTUAL VS PHYSICAL WORLD

At present (Spring 2025), dynamics around social media and AI are presenting serious issue around privacy, copyright and safeguarding where many creatives need to reassess how to place their work online. After moving through quite an intense process myself, at this juncture, my intent is to divest away from social media using it only as a landing page, keep communication centralised through my own websites and mail list, and work to keep students, members and audiences in the earthly dimension as much as possible.  Let's keep it on the ground and in body.

 

EVENTS + COURSES - FIRST TO KNOW

Events and courses carry the determination of meeting in person. They will no doubt come about when time is right. As members you will always be the first to know.
