ROWAN JACQUELINE

WRITER / DIRECTOR / PERFORMER

As lead artist for A Peculiar Shade of Blue Rowan is initiator of the project.

 

Her role incorporates many aspects from producer, writer, director and performer. With regard to film, the majority material has been self-shot as long duration is required on the land. She also acts as lead cinematographer.

NOOSHKA STORM

PERFORMER

Nooshka Storm is a young actor and plays the role of SHA 'a future child' throughout A Peculiar Shade of Blue.

 

Nooshka has performed with Wildworks Theatre for Wolf's Child as the wolf child, and has been a long term member of both junior and senior dance companies for Hall for Cornwall.  

 

She is currently studying for a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performance.

ROB PURDAY

MUSIC / CREATIVE FACILITATION

Rob Purday is a musician, writer and multidisciplinary commissioning artist working in fields ranging from traditional sculpture and painting to site specific work and installations.

 

He studied sculpture and music at Bath Academy of Art in the seventies and went on to train with indigenous mentors and traditional healers over a period of twenty years, an experience which deeply informs Rob's approach to creative work and its role and meaningfulness within the modern world.

 

Rob has worked closely with A Peculiar Shade of Blue since the start of the project to compose an original score to support all six stanzas though ITERATION #1, whilst also acting as a creative facilitator from Oct 2021 - March 2022.

LINDEN GLEDHILL

Linden Gledhill is an artist who explores the physical world through different image scales and fragments of time. His education in science has led to the use of advanced microscopy and high speed equipment to create unexpected imagery revealing the physical beauty which surrounds us.

 

A passion for photography has led to numerous collaborations with other artists and designers resulting in promotional art work and effective advertisement campaigns. Corporate clients included ExxonMobil, GMC, Canon, British Telecom and musicians such as Ryan Teague and Jon Hopkins.

 

Linden’s work features in THRESHOLD (Stanza 2) for A Peculiar Shade of Blue, where we see a key sequence of a moth in flight.

WILLA HARLATT

CREATIVE FACILITATOR

Willa is a storyteller, writer and facilitator. Originally from the UK, Willa now lives in Canada and has deep experience of working with indigenous mythology where she references old stories from around the world as a map to understand not only the physical landscape in which we live but also the human emotional, mental and spiritual landscape.

 

Due to her specialist knowledge, Willa has been asked to step in as creative facilitator to move deeper levels of storyline for SNOT (Stanza 3) and SALT (Stanza 5).

HENRY MCGRATH

Henry McGrath is an actor, director, solo film maker and physical performance artist who has worked within a wide-web of performance worlds, from collaborating with experimental avant-garde theatre groups to working in mainstream TV and film.

 

He is the founder of The Solo School, and founder and co-director of Eden's Cave, a laboratory theatre group based in the Forest of Dean described as "an exciting and ground-breaking company with a holistic world vision".

 

Henry McGrath contributed as creative facilitator and cinematographer for detail during early stages of development for Peculiar Shade of Blue from Feb - Oct 2021.

BERNADETTE KEARNS

CRITIQUE CIRCLE / BOOK PROJECT MANAGER / EDITOR

Bernadette is an Irish writer and freelance fiction editor who specialises in developmental editing, line and copyediting for indie authors, with a particular focus on historical, mystery and literary fiction. She also works on non-fiction for traditional publishers.

 

Bernadette has a first-class honours degree in Theatre Arts from Rose Bruford College in Kent. She has written and directed a number of stage plays and film scripts, and her novel The Angel Key was long-listed for the Irish Writers Centre Novel Fair in 2017.

 

Bernadette is also a Full member of the Association of Irish Editors, Proofreaders and Indexers of Ireland and represented the Association on its expert panel for a presentation on professional freelance editing at the Irish Writers Centre in 2023.

MADDY MORTON

Based in Brighton, Maddy works in the marketing sector. She started her career in advertising at Ogilvy and Bartle Bogle Hegarty before joining Arts Council England as marketing and market research manager, then head of marketing at English National Opera and a senior consultant at AEA (cultural sector consulting) before becoming an independent consultant.

 

Maddy’s arts clients have ranged from The National Theatre, Glyndebourne Opera and Tate Modern to the Almeida, Rambert and National Youth Dance Theatre.

 

She now works in the qualitative insight world. She held senior roles at One World Research and Stimulating World Research before setting up Lucid, of which she is Founder & CEO.

SANDRA FALKEBORN

Located in Sweden, Sandra is an artist, ceramicist and sculptor - while she also incorporates dance and theatre into her practice.  She works in mixed materials with clay as a base. Her main art expression is organic sculptures inspired by the material and nature.

Sandra has trained with Rowan Jacqueline and Spiderflower since 2015, has achieved Level 1 Accreditation and is currently taking an extended sabbatical due to the happy event of becoming a mother.
